IndyHouse Terms of Service

Version 1 · Effective October 15, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and StarHouse LLC, a Texas company. StarHouse makes IndyHouse. In these terms, "StarHouse," "we," and "us" mean StarHouse LLC. "You" means the person using IndyHouse.

"IndyHouse" means the IndyHouse website, the platform at app.indyhouseapp.com, every House, the IndyHouse iPhone app, and the IndyHouse Fans iPhone app.

Please read them. If you don't agree, please don't use IndyHouse.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and what we do with it. It's part of this agreement.

1. The short version

The rest of this page gives the details. If this short version and the details ever seem to disagree, the details apply.

2. Who can use IndyHouse

Age. You must be at least 18 to make an account and open a House. If you're between 13 and 17, a parent or legal guardian can open a House for you. The parent or guardian is the account holder. They agree to these terms and are responsible for the House. Nobody under 13 may have a House.

IndyHouse Fans is for people 13 and older. Section 18 explains.

One real person per account. Your account is for you. Don't share your sign-in with anyone. If other people need to work in your House, invite them. Each person gets their own account.

Using IndyHouse for a business. If you use IndyHouse for a band, label, or company, you're agreeing to these terms for that group too. You're promising you're allowed to do that.

Where the law says no. You can't use IndyHouse if the law forbids you from using it. That includes laws on trade sanctions.

3. Your account and your House

Your House. Each artist gets a House. It's your private workspace. It has its own web address, like yourname.indyhouseapp.com. You can also open it in the IndyHouse iPhone app.

Signing in. You sign in with a code we send to your email. Keep your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Tell us right away if you think someone got into your account.

Who's in your House. The person who opens a House is its owner. The owner decides who else comes in. People can join as core team, members, or collaborators. Each role can see and do different things. You're responsible for who you invite and what you let them do.

Room passcodes. You can lock some rooms, like the Writing Room, with a passcode. This stops people in your House from opening that room without it. It doesn't encrypt your words. Our Privacy Policy explains this in Section 16.

What you tell us must be true. Keep your account details correct and up to date.

4. Your work stays yours

You own your content. "Your content" means everything you put in IndyHouse. That includes music, masters, stems, versions, lyrics, voice memos, notes, photos, video, artwork, documents, and contact lists. You own 100% of it. StarHouse gets no ownership of it, ever. Nothing in these terms transfers any of your rights to us.

The permission you give us. To run IndyHouse, our systems have to handle your files. So you give StarHouse a limited permission to:

That's all. The permission is:

We do not get any right to sell your content, license it to others, use it in our marketing, or publish it anywhere you didn't choose. If we ever want to feature your work, we'll ask you first. You can say no.

Your ideas for IndyHouse. If you send us suggestions about how to make IndyHouse better, we can use those ideas without paying you. This covers only your ideas about the product. It never covers your music or other content.

5. AI and your work

We never train AI on your content. StarHouse does not use your content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model. We don't let the AI services we use train on it either. We only use AI services whose terms say they won't train on what we send them. This never changes, even if the rest of these terms do.

What AI does in IndyHouse. Some features use AI to help you. For example, they suggest tags for your photos and videos, summarize documents you upload, or help draft a pitch or a message. When you use them, the needed content goes to an AI service. The result comes back to your House. Our Privacy Policy lists these features in Section 6.

Voice memos. On iPhone, voice memos are turned into text on your phone, by Apple's built-in speech recognition. The audio isn't sent to an AI service for that.

Turning AI off. You can choose "No AI" for a file when you bring it into your House. Then no AI feature will use that file.

AI makes mistakes. Check anything AI suggests before you rely on it. This matters most for anything legal or about money, like a summary of a contract. AI output is not legal advice.

6. What you may not do

Don't use IndyHouse to:

If you do these things, we may remove content, limit your House, or close your account. Section 14 explains how.

7. Your responsibility for what you upload

You need the rights. Before you upload something, you must own it or have permission to use it. That includes samples, beats, artwork, photos of other people, and anything made with other people. You're responsible for getting any licenses or permission you need.

Other people's information. Your House can hold information about other people. That might be collaborators, contacts, deal partners, or fans. You're responsible for having the right to keep that information and to contact those people. Only use it for your music and your business.

We don't check everything. We don't review content before it goes into a House. We may look at content if someone reports it, if the law requires it, or to keep IndyHouse safe. Section 8 of our Privacy Policy explains when StarHouse staff can see inside a House.

8. Messaging your fans

You can send emails and text messages to fans from your House. When you do:

We may review text campaigns before they go out. We may pause your messaging if we see spam, lots of complaints, or a warning from a carrier. If we can, we'll tell you why first.

Texts and emails can fail or arrive late. We don't promise every message will be delivered.

9. Other services you connect

You can connect other services to your House. For example, you can bring in files from Google Drive or Dropbox. When you connect one:

YouTube. IndyHouse features that connect to YouTube use YouTube API Services. By using those features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Instagram and TikTok. When you use IndyHouse features that connect to Instagram or TikTok, you must also follow Instagram's Terms of Use or TikTok's Terms of Service. Anything you post through IndyHouse is posted under your own account, and you're responsible for it, just as if you'd posted it in their apps.

Our Privacy Policy, Section 18, explains what IndyHouse reads from each of these accounts, how long we keep it, and how to disconnect.

We aren't responsible for other services. That includes if they change, go down, or remove something.

10. Plans and prices

IndyHouse has three plans:

PlanPrice
WriterFree
House$29 a month, or $290 a year
House Pro$79 a month, or $790 a year

What each plan includes is shown on the plans page in IndyHouse. We'll tell you before we change what your plan includes. If a change takes away something you use, the notice will come at least 30 days before it happens.

The free Writer plan. You can have one free Writer House. Don't open extra free Houses to get around plan limits. We may limit or close a free House that is used for spam, abuse, or storing large amounts of files that have nothing to do with your music. We'll warn you first and give you time to export, unless the use is illegal or harming others.

Founding Houses. If you opened your House with a founding code, it's a Founding House. It gets House Pro free, with no card needed, for as long as your House stays open and IndyHouse keeps running. A founding code works once. Founding status stays with that House and can't be sold or moved to another one. It ends if we close your House under Section 14.

IndyHouse Fans is free for fans.

11. Paying

Right now, during the pilot, payment isn't switched on. If you choose a paid plan, you aren't charged. Before we start charging, we'll tell you the price and the date. We won't charge you unless you add a way to pay and agree to it.

When payment is on:

12. Changing your plan

Moving up. A bigger plan starts right away.

Moving down. A smaller plan starts at the end of the time you've already paid for. Until then, you keep your current plan.

When you have more than a plan allows. We don't delete your work because you moved to a smaller plan. You can still see and export everything. You may not be able to add more until you're under the new plan's limits or move back up.

13. Cancelling and refunds

How to cancel. You can cancel at any time.

When you cancel, your plan keeps working until the end of the time you've paid for. Then it doesn't renew.

Cancelling doesn't delete your work. Your House and everything in it are kept. You can still sign in, see your work, and export it. Paid features stop. If a cancelled House stays unpaid and unused for a long time, we may delete it. We'll never do that without telling you at least 90 days before and giving you time to export.

Refunds.

14. Closing your account

You can leave at any time. You can export everything first. Section 12 of our Privacy Policy explains how to export your data and how to close your account. It also explains what happens to your data after you close it. Fans can delete their fan account in the app. See Section 18.

When we may limit or close your account. We may limit your House, remove content, or close your account if:

How we'll do it. Unless it's urgent or the law stops us, we'll tell you what's wrong first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close your account, we'll give you at least 30 days to export your work. We won't do that only when the content itself is illegal, or when the law forbids it.

If we shut IndyHouse down. We'll tell you at least 60 days before. You'll have that time to export everything.

What lasts after closing. Some parts of these terms keep applying after an account closes. Those are the parts that are meant to last, like Sections 4, 19, 20, 21, and 22.

We respect artists' rights, including other artists' rights. We follow the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

If you think something in IndyHouse infringes your copyright, send a notice to our copyright agent by email or mail:

Jay Van Zandt, Copyright Agent, StarHouse LLC
dmca@starhousellc.com
10601 Clarence Dr., Suite 250, Frisco, TX 75033, United States

Your notice must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. what work you think was copied
  3. where it is in IndyHouse, for example a share link, with enough detail for us to find it
  4. your name, address, phone number, and email
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't allowed by you, your agent, or the law
  6. a statement that what's in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the right or are allowed to act for the owner

What we do. When we get a valid notice, we remove the material or block access to it. Then we tell the artist whose House it's in.

If you think we removed your content by mistake, you can send our copyright agent a counter-notice. It must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. what was removed and where it was
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification
  4. your name, address, and phone number
  5. a statement that you agree to the federal court for your area, or, if you're outside the US, any place where StarHouse can be sued. You must also agree to accept legal papers from the person who sent the notice.

We send the counter-notice to the person who complained. If they don't tell us they've gone to court within 10 to 14 business days, we may put the material back.

Repeat infringers. We close the accounts of people who infringe again and again.

False claims. Don't send a notice or counter-notice you know is false. You could be legally responsible for the harm it causes.

Other complaints, like about a trademark or someone's likeness, can go to privacy@starhousellc.com.

16. IndyHouse is still being built

IndyHouse is in an early pilot, also called a beta. That means:

We'll tell you before any change that takes away something important to you. We'll always protect your ability to export your work.

Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. We back up IndyHouse every night, but backups can fail. Your export is the best way to keep your own copy.

17. Using the iPhone apps

If you use the IndyHouse app or the IndyHouse Fans app on iPhone, these extra terms apply. They come from Apple's rules for apps.

18. IndyHouse Fans

IndyHouse Fans is an iPhone app for joining an artist's fan club. These rules apply to fans.

It's free. Joining a club and taking part never costs anything. No purchase is ever needed.

You must be 13 or older. Nobody under 13 may use the app. If you're under 18, go over these terms with a parent or guardian.

Each club is run by its artist. The artist decides what the club offers, and may have their own terms and privacy policy. Your club links to them where they exist, and they apply too. An artist may change, pause, or end their club, or any part of it, at any time.

One person, one membership. Each membership is for one person. Keep your sign-in codes to yourself.

Club rules. Be kind. What you share must be true and yours to share. That includes your profile, your photos, links you send for missions, ideas, and polls and quizzes you make as a mod. It can't be unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or infringing. Everything in Section 6 applies too. There's no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Photos go through an automated safety check and may be refused.

What you share stays yours. You give the artist and StarHouse permission to store it and use it to run the club, as our Privacy Policy describes. If you're a mod, your polls and quizzes are shown to the club's fans with your first name.

Block and Report. You can report any poll or quiz, and block any mod so you never see their posts again. The club's team looks at every report. The club's team or StarHouse may remove content, remove a mod, or suspend or remove any member who breaks these rules or harms other fans, the artist, or IndyHouse.

Mods must be 18 or older. A club chooses its own mods. A club can remove a mod at any time.

Cards, pulls, and dust. Collectible cards, pulls, dust, and anything else in your collection are digital keepsakes for fun, inside the club only.

Earned rewards. Some rewards are earned by doing things, like finishing a mission or inviting a friend. Earning them with fake accounts, fake referrals, links that aren't yours, bots, or any other trick isn't allowed. Rewards earned that way may be removed.

The Vault. Music and other content in a club are for your personal enjoyment, by streaming only. They belong to the artist or their licensors. You may not download, record, copy, share, sell, or redistribute them.

Summon. Picking a city where you want a show tells the artist where fans are. It isn't a ticket or a promise of a show.

Texts and emails. If you join a club's texts or emails, the artist sends them. Our Privacy Policy, Section 10, explains how to stop them, including replying STOP to any text. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages. The number you give must be yours, or you must be allowed to opt it in.

Giveaways. A club may run drawings. Each drawing has its own official rules, and they control that drawing. No purchase is needed to enter or win.

Other platforms. Some club features link to other services, like Discord, TikTok, Instagram, or streaming services. Their own terms apply there, and they set their own age limits.

Leaving. You can leave at any time. In the app, go to You, then Privacy, and choose Delete everything.

19. What we don't promise

We work hard on IndyHouse. But we provide it "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, StarHouse makes no promises beyond what these terms say. That includes promises that:

Some places don't allow some of these limits. If you live in one, those limits don't apply to you.

20. Limits on what we owe you

To the extent the law allows:

These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them. That includes harm caused by our fraud, or by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

21. If someone makes a claim because of you

Someone might make a legal claim against StarHouse because of content you uploaded, or because you broke these terms or the law. If that happens, you'll cover StarHouse's reasonable costs from that claim, including lawyers' fees. We'll tell you about the claim promptly. We'll let you help handle it.

22. Disputes and Texas law

Talk to us first. If you have a problem with IndyHouse, write to us at the contact below. Most problems can be fixed that way. Please give us 30 days to try before going to court.

Texas law. Texas law governs these terms, without regard to rules that would pick another state's law.

Where to go to court. Any lawsuit must be brought in the state or federal courts in Tarrant County, Texas. You and StarHouse agree to those courts. Either of us can still go to small claims court if the claim qualifies. There's no arbitration.

If you live outside the US. You keep any rights the law where you live gives consumers, and that can't be signed away.

23. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as IndyHouse grows. If a change matters, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. We'll tell you by email or in IndyHouse. If you keep using IndyHouse after that, you're agreeing to the new terms. If you don't agree, you can export your work and close your account before the change takes effect.

Some changes take effect right away. Those are changes for a new feature, or changes the law requires.

We will never use a change to these terms to take ownership of your content. We will never use one to let anyone train AI on it, or to sell your data.

Each version has a number and a date at the top. We keep a record of which version you agreed to.
